Combacting Cervical Cancer: HEIA and CHRI Held HPV Awareness on Campus

        Adedeji Fawaz & Abiola Iyelomo In a bid to protect young women from cervical cancer, the Health Equity Initiative Africa (HEIA) Society, in partnership with the Campus Health Rights Initiative (CHRI), OAU, has launched a human papillomavirus (HPV) sensitisation campaign on the Obafemi Awolowo University campus. The initiative aims to improve students’ health outcomes and reduce the burden of cervical cancer. The awareness campaign, held on Friday, June 26, was spearheaded by Fumilayo Shopade. It sought to educate students on the importance of preventive healthcare, particularly regarding HPV and its link to cervical cancer. Promoting Health and Wellness Amongst Students: IFUTSA Hosts "Cardiofit Connect" Outreach

                Ijeoma Anele  The Ife University Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Students' Association (IFUTSA) of the Faculty of Basic Medical Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, held her "Cardiofit Connect" health outreach, on Wednesday 15 April, at Oduduwa Hall pavement, in a bid to promote wellness within the university community. Speaking on the health outreach, the IFUTSA President, Olayinka Philip, noted that the outreach was primarily set up to create basic health awareness, by checking students' vital health conditions, including their blood pressure, weight, height, to mention a few. He added that the health outreach also encourages the beneficiaries to engage in physical activities like daily exercise, in order to stay physically fit. Fajuyi Hall Hosts First Health Outreach; Implore Occupants to Prioritize Their Wellbeing

            Abiola Iyelomo  The Executive Council of the Adekunle Fajuyi Hall of Residence, in partnership with several health-related teams, hosts the hall’s first awareness outreach tagged 'Health Outreach '26', where residents and the Great Ife students at large, were educated and sensitized on how to stay healthy and maintain a healthy living. The health outreach, held at the Fajuyi Hall car park, was attended by staff of the university, Students' Union Executives, among other officers, where attendees had access to free medical checkup, medication, health awareness and lifestyle education, first aid and emergency response training, among other benefits outlined for the outreach.  The event kicked off with an opening speech from one of the hall executives, who acknowledged all attendees and volunteers of the outreach.
