The Great Ife Congress

THE GREAT IFE CONGRESS The Action Committee in iys own initiative decides to hold a congress at Fajuyi Hall's Cafeteria on Monday, 12th November 2018, which started at exactly 4:45pm. The congress was about to be breached by the University security but they were confronted by the students. In this light, the University security issued a release about Fajuyi Hall's Cafeteria, stating that it is meant for reading not public discussions. The ASSU representatives invited to the discussion were absent. The Chairman, Action Committee,  Gbenga VON, opened the floor by talking about the state of the union and the university. He condemned the proscription of the student union and the university. He also talked on the open insecurity in thd university and also the sudden closure of hostels' gates. OAU Management reacts to ASUU strike.

By Oludiran Olusola and Olaleye Oluwasola The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reacted to the declaration of strike by the Academics Staff Union of Universities Obafemi Awolowo University chapter that the students should continue with their academics activities on campus. The management made this affirmation in the official release signed by the registrar of the school Mrs M I Omosule on Tuesday 6th November, 2018 stating that "academic session is very much on course. As there are no plans to compel students to vacate the campus until the end of the year holidays. Nasels congress held in an unconventional manner

By Oludiran Cyrus and Omotosho Wumi The congress of the National association of students of English and Literary studies which held around 4pm on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at history  topmost floor,  is something that could be labelled as an uncompossed congress as some of the executive that are very vital to the congress were not on seat when the congress commenced. The P.R.O, Akingboye Sunday, the Financial secretary, James Opeyemi, The AGS all came late without any tangible reason. Moreover, the agenda  of the congress were; FASA ASPIRANTS, NASELS TRIP, STANDING COMMITTE. Of all the congress agenda, the issue of FASA aspirants was the most discussed as two Naselsite, Pedro Roseline,from part 2 constituency and Asota Success from part3 constituency showed their interests in contesting for the position of vice president at the faculty level.
