ASUU to Resume Work after their Branch Congresses Today.

   The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended its strike after series of meetings with the Federal government. The ASUU strike which commenced on the 14th of August, 2017 came to an abeyance after a final four-hour meeting with the Federal Government delegation, which ended around 9pm in Abuja on Monday, 18th September, 2017.        The decision to suspend the strike was made know by the ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi who addressed a briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress secretariat to announce the union's " conditional suspension of the strike , " after concluding the final meeting with the Federal Government Delegation which was led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.           Prof. Ogunyemi said, “We have signed a new Memorandum of Action today (Monday). IPOB Advocate a Sovereign State of Biafra

     In a statement issued by the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed during a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, 17th September, 2017 that the Indigenous People of Biafra is being sponsored by those who he referred to as the coalition of the politically disgruntled and treasury looters because sponsoring the group to destabilize the country and trigger chaos will aid the realization of their ambition to escape justice which will grant them the freedom to dip their hands into the nation's treasury again.           But IPOB's spokesman, Emma Powerful reacted to this claim by the Minister of Information and Culture in Sunday PUNCH that the group was not sponsored by any politician; adding that the group had resisted and rebuffed moves by some anonymous politicians to take over the group. " No single individual or group , including politicians , has the power to sponsor IPOB and the struggle for Biafra independence ." He

Pandemonium amongst OAU Students Union Executives: Lamba and Emerald hospitalised

By oludiran olusola    It was a dramatic night on Tuesday, 5th September, 2017 among the students Union central executives during their CEC meeting at the Students Union building. Jacob Oluwatosin, the vice president of the union known as Emerald and the director of socials, Adedayo Afolabi known as Lamba engaged in physical combat which led to the hospitalization of both individuals. According to the Public Relations officer of the Union, Okediji Simon,  who was also present at the meeting said that the whole uproar started when some deliberations were made in the course of the meeting which were not in favour the office of the vice president, this made her decide to leave the meeting, and in executing her decision to walk away,  Lamba decided to obstruct her from taking a walk.  Emerald got furious by his actions, instigating an arousal of anger as a result of Lamba's unruly attitude towards her. She searched an escape route. The situations became tensed and arguments heated,
