OAU Releases List Of Suspended and Expelled Students

On March 19th, 2020, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife released a list which contained names of students who were found culpable of various offences which centered on the breach of their matriculation oath, the sanctions for these students found guilty of these offences were stated in the list. The offences listed includes; Examination Malpractice, membership of unlawful society, Unlawful alterations of marks, impersonation.

NASELS OAU Holds Election after 2 years, Presidential Election Declared Inconclusive.

The National Association of English and Literary Studies held her election, Thursday 19th March, 2020. The chairman of the electoral committee  for the NASELS executive council election, Nweke Izuchukwu Jude declared the commencement of the election by 11:06am. Also stating that there would only be an election for the post of president and vice president because all other positions are unopposed. In an interview with the aspirants, Yusuf Qudus Olaniyi, one of the candidates vying for the post of president, stated that "I wants to be a catalyst for change" when asked his reason for contesting. Erstwhile President, LSS OAU, Denies Allegations. Demands Apology

The Erstwhile President, Law Student Society, Obafemi Awolowo University, Yusuf-Amuda Lateef Adeyemi, has debunked allegations made against him concerning financial misappropriation in the previous administration. In a release, he stated that his administration left some debts behind, owing Dewaleowo (Nig) Enterprises a sum of N105,000 and a DJ’s fee of N25,000. He also claimed that the debts were incurred as a result of no admission of new students which was a way to raise to raise funds and expected a donation from the Governor of Osun State which was not forthcoming. He also, in his release, explained how the N1 million donated to the association was channeled in to some programs as opposed to the allegations of the student representatives’ council. He claimed that the money was used to finance an Annual Public Lecture and launching of Advocate Journal and also inter-faculty and football competitions. LSS OAU Alleges Erstwhile President Of Misappropriating Funds

The Law Student Representative Council ( LSRC),OAU made a release concerning petition that had been submitted before the Division of Student Affairs by Dewaleowo (Nig.) Enterprises, the company contracted for printing the Advocate Journal, alleging that Yusuf Amuda Adeyemi Lateef-led administration was in debt totalling #150,000, being the balance of the payment for the printing of 300 copies of the aforementioned journal.        Another petition hit, this time jointly by two graduating members of the society namely Akinade Lawal and Adegbola Aliy Adedayo. This was for a debt of #104,000 incurred during the execution of their duties as the Chairmen of the Law Week Committee and Publications Committee respectively. They, like the printer of the Advocate Journal, had been promised to be paid in due time, but the time was never due.
