OAU: VC ASSURES MORE BEDSPACE ON CAMPUS

By Adebayo Oluwatomi Esther On Monday April 29, 2019 during the matriculation ceremony of 6750 students out of 37000 applicants that applied for admission from the university. The vice chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede at the matriculation ceremony  assured everyone that there is plan to increase the number of bedspace on OAU campus to 10,000. Furthermore, the VC also spoke about issue of transportation on campus and made it clear that there is provision of 30 sitters buses to reduce the challenges of students' transportation. However, It is obvious that the students who were matriculated on April 29 are full of joy as expressed by Okeke Joy a newly admitted student of student of History and International relations: "I enjoyed myself and can't even estimate my happiness. JUST IN: OAU STUDENT ALLEGEDLY COMMITS SUICIDE

OAU: students got stuck at school gate

By OMOTOSHO wumi In the early hours of Thursday, April 11, 2019, some students and staffs of Obafemi Awolowo University were stranded at school gate  as bus drivers refused to enter campus. They were seen stopping their colleagues from entering campus. And as a result, people who had one assignment or the other had to find another means of transportation to campus. According to a passenger, who pleaded anonymity said that; " According to what I heard from one of the drivers, he said their colleagues buses were seized because they don't have licence. So they are trying to prevent others from falling into the trap by not allowing them to enter campus." At the time of filing this report, the issue has been resolved and buses are now entering campus.
