INK YOUR THOUGHTS

Ogundeji Theophilus Write the lines now, You know it doesn't matter how. And don't care what the people say, Just let the words carry you away. Colors nd beauty may fade, But words made can never be unmade. Write of paradise, write of eternal doom, Because your pen is a flower that needs to bloom. Be it in joy or abundant pain, Just write of the mighty dragon that was slain. For if you keep the lines bottled, The blood in ur veins will remain troubled. Go on. Wield the power of the pen, Be the fiery giant amongst men. Forget the kings ruling in this kingdom, Dare to get a throne nd make your way blossom.

DIFFERENCES

Adebiyi Damilola L . We call ourselves Brothers We shook hand in allegiance With what we presumed was a clean conscience Together we sat in class Hoping together we can pass Irrespective of the name to whom I made my petition Nor the nature of your purification On the way home, the difference started to show Admist the fuming smokes taking over the city like snow Amongst the loud clangs of swords that death fatal blows Now I am an enemy because my hair was styled like an English Now I must die because I pleaded for my life in English Now I am no longer your brother because the Holy name was uttered in a movie in France I'm no longer your brother because you have to avenge the blasphemy that happened in France

ALL ABOUT GIRLS

Girls! They protect you, Mind you, correct you In ways you never thought of, They enslave you, caress you!  You do whatever they say, Sometimes they confuse you! Right then it gets real bad, Misconceptions they kill you! You give them all, You're taken to the mall, Spend all your money, Until you fall! They flirt, tiny skirts! Eyes blink, you're alert! Black magic, their Mastered skill! New guys like contraception pills! Some naughty, some innocent, What lies deep inside, Is the Killer sense, Oh they messed me up.  Damn,I now trust this bae, Sitting here golden cheers, Girls!Girls!Girls!             ADEBAYO OLUWATOMISIN E.

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PIT. -A CHILD'S PLIGHT-

With shouts of joy, I cried when I came out, Little did I know, Out of pain will I still shout Very fragile, I was pampered, Little did I know, A hen is fed to be killed. A sudden change, My whole life turned, And I began to know, My eyes will still bleed blood. I didn't ask for this, Why do I have it? If I had known, I would stay away from this beautiful pit. Silence! No sound at all, Is the order given, Now I know, It is better to have stayed in heaven .             Ogundeji Theophilus O.

Immune to Impotence

Ande O. Joy Me?, not me, I can't die Death?, he knows I'm powerful He can't touch me I'd just bribe him lots if he tries Me?, I can't be powerless, I'll always have that spark at my fingertips, to command all to do my bidding castigating those who try to challenge me. Me?, I think you're mistaken I can never be poor Call poverty and she'll tell you that I give her chills. Me?, you're hilarious I can never be anguished I have a body made of a thousand platinum armours Pain will be too scared to come near. And such, the vain words of perverse fellows Who all but know  that all can tumble down, Keeping them where not even power can save them.

SOLACE

Image
Ande O. Joy Wallowing in calmness, like the serenity of a dimly lit free hallway, fresh as morning dew or the first rain at the crack of dawn Refreshing as the air  after rainfall It revels in liss like colts set free on the morrow It stands, testing it's interval whether it be to fade soon or to call one's own Journeying through empathy, it relishes the present commanding succor to inspire and pain to blin, feeling like what forever should be

Dawn on

By Kareem Temitope I love you,so much, very much These are words he tells me always To me, they mean a whole lot But I think to him, it's just a phrase that he uses for everyone I thought I was special until I heard him tell someone else the same Yes!! The exact same word and I was so devastated So, I am nothing but a "normal" person to me I thought we were special  I thought there is an US I thought we existed until I heard him tell someone else the same word With the same expression, he had on when he told me Then I realized the words meant nothing to him They were nothing just like our national anthem That has no value before us

PERFECT IS IMPERFECT

Image
Adebayo Joy    Born to two and grew to learn everything is perfect, Nurtured this idea for time and met a friend that could show me me. Then I realized how perfect I am Cos all even things and numbers is perfect. How perfect is the size of my green glossy eyes and   the colour of my brown skin even, How white is the set of my rectangular teeth and the arc of my full brows sharp. But "PERFECT" is imperfect Cos it either carries itself in pairs three times and neglects one   or move in threes two times and also leave one. Uneven is odd And odd is imperfect, "PERFECT" is perfect to the one that doesn't think "PERFECT" is imperfect

SUCCESS

By: Omogiate Prosper Great people, they don't CRY They TRY to rebuild their dreams. Great people don't GIVE UP, They LIVE UP to the challenge that life throws at them. Great people don't GO through, They GROW through the difficulties that come on their path. They start all over again with great hope, with great determination, with great grit and that is why they reach the highest peaks of success that most people only aspire for that is why I say: NO CHALLENGES, NO SUCCESS AND KNOW CHALLENGES, KNOW SUCCESS.

BEAM

By: Ande Joy When moon and star meet to shine focusing on me like they're mine I long to touch their light remembering I have no flight Beneath the sunless sky, basking in the rays of the stars despite being so high, still shinning without bars Drenched in hopeful gleam, streaming from the moonlit sky drowning the darkness of the night and the fear in my heart I long to touch the light, to feel it flow all over my soul and give me hope that my tomorrow and the night thereafter would be bright.

TO YOU DEAR FRIEND

By: Alofe Faith I write this to you. Thinking about our journey. Though short. Was a memorable one. You took me to another phase of my life. You did the unexpected. You trained me to be myself. You trained me to be spiritual. You trained me to be studious. Words can't describe what you've done for me. Words are not enough to qualify them. Words can't quantity them. Words can't thank you enough. I love you for who you are. I love you for training me. I love you for being by my side always. I miss you a lot. I can't wait to see you. I can't wait to go pray together. To you dear friend, you will always be in my heart.

EXISTENCE IS A CAGE

By: Akinade Israel O. Mom and dad, locked up in a room. Staring at each other. Baby I love you, I want to say that too. Dad grabbed mom, A plant of kiss. I was made secretly Locked by my dad, Mom kept me within. After nine months, my mind was to escape. Finally out, another cage I emerged. Freedom is all I want, Caging from one cage to another. One freedom is, another cage. Freedom is another Escape to a cage.

HARDWORK PAYS

By: Adebayo Joshua (Josh Flames) As time flies and day cease, As the oceans are been swept away, So also we must be at alert. To the unfading love that we enjoy. To the unfathomable love we see, Be diligent and earnest in everything. For time wait for no man, As the rising of the sun, To the going down of the moon. Work so as to achieve in life, For we are like dust on the earth, To which we will soon be judged. Creatures on Earth are working, But human beings are not economical, Rise against the good nature that deceives. Never let go of the past, But rise up to achieve something, Because there is a GIANT to be reawakened.

NIGERIA

By: Adebayo Joshua (Josh Flames) Born into a world unknown, Where Earth gives birth to men, Men to be reckoned with integrity, Men devoted to their fatherland. A world where SOCIALISM, DEMOCRACY; Is been practiced and perverted. A place to be known for honesty; Has been turned into a place of desolation. Great men like Zik, Awo, Soyinka, Have left legacy for us to follow, We treaded the path of our patriotic father's, Yet we refuse to obey the NATIONAL ANTHEM. We are so degraded and morally biased, Injustice and violence have spread, Leaders we look up to Are only there for their selfish interest We are been pejorative as citizens, Abiding not by the rules of the land, When do we take a step, Until we see the positive side. Arise O GIANT of the soil, To take what belongs to you, This is your fatherland, Awaken to mentality of truth. We need GENERALS to set things right, Where the altar of prayer will burn, Where the GOSPEL will be preached, Beyond borde...

Life of a Grammarian

Compact in lecture halls like sardines in tins. Contrast on seats like apostrophes and glue Like consonant clusters in classrooms. But get punctuated with hyphens and dashes – in exam halls. The rank shifted groups that function below their potentials. Wishing they were lawyers; they attend class in black and White with no wigs. A life of stress can't change the Tone of their sentences. We all want to be Independent like alpha clauses. We run From one lecture halls to another like Enjambments. The schwas that learn to Adapt in many phonemes. We analyze Subjects and objects forgetting that we are The predicator of our lives. We are synonyms in the Same auditorium. Frantic race via doors like Uncountable nouns of Trojan troops. Fill the halls To the edges like prefixes and suffixes. Auditoria compress us into smaller f...

DONUM(GIFT)

DONUM Gifts, give and take O Lord, why would a gift not  be given to me ? Each day is a little life Every waking and rising a little birth Every fresh morning a little youth Every going to rest and sleep a little death. But no complacency, bitter Yes, and now I'm given the donum, filled with the joy of the world A life becomes the donum. Living for each day, a new chapter A new sign and wonder My hands hunger for the donum Alas! my soul seeks. BABAJIDE " K.BABS " KEHINDE
