Life of a Grammarian

Compact in lecture halls like sardines in tins.
Contrast on seats like apostrophes and glue
Like consonant clusters in classrooms.
But get punctuated with hyphens and dashes – in exam halls.

The rank shifted groups that function below their potentials.
Wishing they were lawyers; they attend class in black and
White with no wigs. A life of stress can't change the
Tone of their sentences.

We all want to be
Independent like alpha clauses. We run
From one lecture halls to another like
Enjambments. The schwas that learn to
Adapt in many phonemes.

We analyze
Subjects and objects forgetting that we are
The predicator of our lives. We are synonyms in the
Same auditorium. Frantic race via doors like
Uncountable nouns of Trojan troops.

Fill the halls
To the edges like prefixes and suffixes.
Auditoria compress us into smaller files and
Amphi theatre gulps us in.
