Pandemonium amongst OAU Students Union Executives: Lamba and Emerald hospitalised

By oludiran olusola

It was a dramatic night on Tuesday, 5th September, 2017 among the students Union central executives during their CEC meeting at the Students Union building.
Jacob Oluwatosin, the vice president of the union known as Emerald and the director of socials, Adedayo Afolabi known as Lamba engaged in physical combat which led to the hospitalization of both individuals.

According to the Public Relations officer of the Union, Okediji Simon,  who was also present at the meeting said that the whole uproar started when some deliberations were made in the course of the meeting which were not in favour the office of the vice president, this made her decide to leave the meeting, and in executing her decision to walk away,  Lamba decided to obstruct her from taking a walk.

Emerald got furious by his actions, instigating an arousal of anger as a result of Lamba's unruly attitude towards her. She searched an escape route. The situations became tensed and arguments heated, as she fetched a bottle, broke it and cut the social director's hand. With this unexpected action, Lamba reacted with a headbutt.

According to Lamba, he said his incense reaction was inform of self defense because he had already been injured and the bottle had cut his hands; so, he quickly tried to collect the bottle from her but when it proved abortive he had to headbutt Emerald twice.

Although he has refused to show the photographs of his injured parts to our correspondent.

Meanwhile, as at the time of collating this news,  the vice president of the union and the social director have been taken to university health Centre for intense medical care.
