WATER-POWERED GENERATOR TO BE UNVEILED IN NIGERIA

FEMI    Buserve limited, a Nigeria firm has announced plans to introduce a generator which is powered by water-hydrogen into the country to enable businesses and citizens to reduce their electricity cost.     The Chief executive officer of the firm, Mr Laitan Aderinto said the technology was being deployed in Europe. This was disclosed at a press briefing in Lagos. He said "we are partnering with a German company. We are starting with the bigger generator with capacity of 500KVA and above our plan is to ensure that factories are back to normal; the price of diesel is killing them, if the government is ready, we are ready to work with them. For instance, there are independent power plants in lagos that are being powered by gas. LAGOS ASSEMBLY SUMMONS AMBODE OVER ALLEGATIONS

ADEKUNLE T. FEMI    The Lagos state House of assembly has pinned five crimes allegedly committed by the former governor of the state, Mr Akinwumi Ambode. The alleged crimes include unauthorized discounting of promissory note and purchase of 820 buses without due authorization.    The Assembly therefore summoned the former governor to appear before it by 1pm on Wednesday. This summon makes it the second time the governor was called upon to face the Assembly.    The House has set up an adhoc committee to investigate some financial misappropriation during the Ambode led administration. However, according to the statement made by the House, Ambode and the former government officials refused to appear before the House committee .The House has now issued another invite to the former governor which  was published in some national dailies. By: Olaniyi Abiodun           Although a good number of Nigerians are currently complaining and blaming the Federal government for closing the country's borders and the sudden inflation on the price of rice.Rice cooperatives,big-time farmers,including the Rice Farmers Association Of Nigeria(RIFAN) in Cross River state are ready for the order of rice across the country.Among the eight local government areas in the state which are predominantly,rice producers are Ogoja,Yala,Bekwara,Abi,Ikom,Obudu.Farmers in these areas have commend the Federal government for taking a very bold step in ensuring the local investors and farmers get real value for their investment rather than encouraging the import of rice from other countries.Local investors and farmers therefore call on the Federal government to permanently keep the borders closed so that Nigerians can also be made popular and its acceptability amongst the people sustained.

REDEEM PASTOR STABBED AT VIGIL

  Olukulujo Kayobola Ezekiel. Rivers State Police department has confirmed the death of a Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor who was stabbed during a vigil at one of the church’s parishes in Port Harcourt. It was learnt that the Redeem Parish on Danjuma Street, Off Odili Road in the Rivers state capital was having a vigil when at about 3 am on Friday, a strange man walked in to stab the pastor. A source in the neighborhood narrated that: “The man came through the gates at that ungodly time, stabbed the gateman with a knife he was holding, brushed through the congregation to the alter, stabbed the pastor and walked out freely." The   Head of the department of police said that, "We have put machinery in place to ensure the arrest of the killer. An investigation has been launched." The Redeem community in Port Harcourt were yet to respond to the development at the time of filing this report.

SAMUEL MELODY FLOURISH The founder of Digital Hub, Mr. Joseph Dogo, has warned users to be careful of downloading Apps as some could be ridden with harmful adware Dogo on Friday told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that some Apps record audio, which is a privacy breach, without user’s consent. Dogo emphasized that some Adware in question could also breach devices, drain battery life or completely infect them to the point that they might need replacement. CIVIL ASSOCIATIONS PLEAD FOR THE RELEASE OF SOWORE

SAMUEL MELODY FLOURISH The Media Rights Agenda (MRA) and 49 other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have called on the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) to intervene to secure the immediate release of Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore. Sowore, a journalist and human rights activist, was arrested on 3rd August, 2019, after calling for #RevolutionNow protest. Mr. Ayode Longe, MRA Programme Director said: “It is antithetical to the tenets of democracy to arrest a man who was merely exercising his constitutional right of assembly, association and expression and the height of impunity to continue to detain him even after a court of competent jurisdiction has granted him bail. WOMAN CAUGHT WITH A STOLEN BABY

By: Orodunsi Omolara      A kidnap suspect,Oluwatoyin Lasisi,was apprehended in Ibadan,Oyo State for stealing a baby.      Lasisi,who was paraded for stealing a three-year-old baby,Nimotallah Sulaiman in the Muslim area of Ibadan, said she did not know when she picked up the baby from a waste dump and took her home.      Lasisi said "I was going to where I beg for alms around a bakery in the Muslim area when I saw the baby and I reasoned that it won't be good to allow her to be taken by ritualists and that was why I picked her up.      "When I got to my house,a woman in my neighborhood challenged me as to where I got the baby from. I was heading for the police station to report the incident, when some people accused me and started beating me"      The Father of the victim, Sulaiman Dauda, said the baby was stolen from a waste dump,where she went to defecate around 11am.   ...

NUT accused FG for allegedly recruiting under qualified teachers

By : Daniel Omole The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has accused the Federal Government of Nigeria for recruiting nonprofessionals as teachers in primary and secondary schools across the federation through its N-power programme. The Secretary of the Anambra State wing of the union, Comrade Livinus Eta Omini in an interview on the 26th of September in Awka attributed the development to poor budgetary allocations to the educational sector. He also added that the parlons votes had its adverse effect on infrastructures, recruitments, welfare, coverage among others. He further stated that the out sourced teachers would only breed and sustain quacksalvers in the profession.

Buhari qualified to contest for administration - Tribunal

The tribunal dismissed the appeal set forward by Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party. According to Justice Mohammed Garba, the military endorsement that Buhari has is most astounding than the base prerequisite. The court has decided that Muhammadu Buhari has the capability to keep running the administration. Atiku Abubakar who is the president's contestant of the People's Democratic Party had documented an appeal contending that Buhari was not scholastically qualified to contest in the 2019 election. President Muhammadu Buhari sworn in for his second term

By Ande Joy President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in for a second term in office on Wednesday, vowing once more to tackle security threats and root out corruption in Africa's key economy. President Buhari who has been in power since 2015, and was re-elected in February, took the oath of office for a second four-year term in the capital Abuja. "I do solemnly swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria," Buhari said, dressed in simple white robes and traditional embroidered cap. "I will preserve, protect and defend the constitution." Buhari took the oath of office at what officials called a "low-key" ceremony. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was also sworn into office. The event included red-carpet arrival flanked by bagpipers into a stadium packed with dignitaries.

UTME 2019: Nigerians React As Student Drinks Sniper Over JAMB Score.

By Adebayo Oluwatomi  Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to the case of UTME 2019 candidate who allegedly attempted suicide because of his ridiculous score in the just concluded Examination in which he had 167 in total.  Segun took to his Twitter to express his grief after checking his result and promised to take his own life. Segun gave  updates on his JAMB score since 2016, he tweeted:  “2015 -189 “2016 -202 “2017 -233 “It is now when people want to send me to school that I will now score 167 in UTME? “167? LMFAO. Make I close eyes pick answers sef…Me? 167? “Meanwhile, I will be teaching y‘ all how to make tea with sniper by 9 pm live on Twitter… Tune in. “This thing go sweet oo.
