OAU Debaters Emerged Victorious at the 12th All-Nigerian University Debate Contest

  Deborah Adeyemi The Obafemi Awolowo University Literary and Debating Society (OAULDS), has emerged as the Best Debate Club amongst other Nigeria universities, in the just concluded All-Nigerian University Debate Championship (ANUDC), held at the University of Ilorin. The 12th edition of this annual inter-varsity debate competition, which was held between Sunday 24th to Saturday, 30th August, 2025 has 25 universities including the host university Unilorin, OAU, FUTA, Veritas University, amongst others in attendance.         Adétúnjí Olúwafémi  When a university graduate, particularly the one who once walked in the same lecture halls, preys on the innocence of fellow students through deceit, the entire academic community is jolted, because it is usually tagged as "betrayal at its peaks." The recent trend on that an Obafemi Awolowo University graduate, Prince Momoh, orchestrated a catfishing scheme, under the guise of a female social media influencer named Priscilla (snapchat @girl_priscilla), is not only shameful, but deeply troubling and calls for caution, not just for OAU students but every social media users. Akintola Hall Enjoys Improved Living Conditions With New Toilet Taps

      Eniola Adeyeye I n the Akintola Hall of Residence, occupants have for a long time grappled with limited access to running water, especially during peak hours, as faulty taps which unavoidably led to inconsistent water flow and long queues had become a norm in the hall of residence. However, the recent installation of new taps within the hall of residence has spurred a somewhat significant improvement that has improved the availability, distribution, and access to water in the hall of residence. Following this development, ICONS reporters in a visit to the hall of residence engaged some of the residents of the hall in an interview. According to the residents, the installation of running taps inneach block's toilet is not just a relief, it has totally eradicated the usual congestion that stems from low water supply.
