Justice for the July 10, 1999 Massacre

 Ojo Comfort Pelumi

Justice, whose abode is found only in the hearts of men. Bleeding hearts, whose only healing to the gushing like a violent hurricane is the sight of full-served judgement. The thirst gives no room for other satisfaction because deep down, the veins has been cut and no physician can help but the soothing power of vengeance.

But where is justice? The healing of the hurting soul

Oh! It's just a mere word, existing only in the minds of those who have been hurt.

The eater knows it not, not even the giant of Africa — well, Afrika proves it.

In a world of segregated people, just like a coin with two sides, they have forgotten that they are formed from one iron piece. They share one body and one soul, yet one chooses to eat while the other becomes the prey. And sadly, out of the prey, small predators riding on the backs of the big predators arise. A small group that wields terror in the hearts of all.

But, there is the saviour, the one whose heart beats for his fellow prey. He fights with might, but the strength of his humaneness can't be contained. With joy, he spills his blood to dispel the evil forces within—the small predators. Alongside his army, he brought safety to the prey.

Who will defend their sacrifice and carve their names into statues of gold? Who will avenge their deaths?

Not the bleeding ones. They shall continue to cry for justice although it might not be heard or rather understood because, the other side of the coin lives on them.
