Father's Day is dedicated especially to the celebration of fathers. This could be a biological father or someone considered to be a father, having fairly fulfilled the roles expected of a father. 

 

Unlike Mother's Day, which is celebrated about "four times" (a default) in a year with a lot of "noise," Father's Day is underrated. A lot of people don't know the date of Father's Day, not to mention forgetting about it.

 

Is the father's role not recognized in society, most especially in Nigeria? Are fathers too unfriendly? These are questions that need to be addressed because the role of a good and true father in the life of a child cannot be overemphasized.

 

Fathers, especially those who are truly fulfilling their roles and are trying their best, need to be celebrated. They deserve it and they are absolutely entitled to it.

 

So, on Sunday the 19th of June, which is Father's Day, celebrate a father that you know.

Fresher's Week'24: Students' Union Holds Freshers Inter-Faculty Debate

By  Adetunji Oluwafemi The Great Ife Students’ Union on Monday, 3rd November 2024, held its planned inter-faculty debate for freshmen. The debate is part of the events that have been prepared for Fresher’s Week 2024. The event experienced a slight delay, as the venue was moved from the 1000-seater to Oduduwa Hall by the order of the school management, which requested that the initial venue be vacated because the office of the Vice President, responsible for the event, failed to seek permission before using it. The event began at 12:35 PM. By Samuel Faseyitan ICAN, a professional accountancy body that regulates the accountancy profession in Nigeria, held its 61st Association of Accounting Technicians West Africa (AATWA) induction ceremony for new members and the 29th AATWA annual general meeting on December 17th, 2024, at the ICAN Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. This event celebrated graduands who completed their journey to the ATS exams to become ATT certified, as well as those who finished either ATS 1 or ATS 2 in their pursuit of becoming chartered accountants. Additionally, this was the occasion where the prize winners were announced.
