Man rides on a camel's back from Kastina to Abuja for the APC convention.

The recent APC convention, held at Eagle Square, saw the attendance of high-wire politicians as well as party faithful of the All Progressive Party. However, more remarkably, was the attention and applause given to one of the party faithful at the event.

Ibrahim Yahaya Hamisu, described by the Vanguard as an APC party faithful as well as a die-hard Buharist, attended the APC convention over a 120-hour journey on a camel's back.

Ibrahim started from his home in Kastina and covered a journey of 590km to the venue of the convention in Abuja, full of passion and a desire to contribute his quota to helping the party elect officers for a better Nigeria.

"My name is Ibrahim Yahaya Hamisu. I came all the way from Katsina to Abuja to show Nigerians that I am an authentic APC man. It took me five days to arrive, " he said.

When asked why he embarked on such a trip considering the security risks associated with travelling through certain parts of the Northwest region, Hamisu said: “I did it for the love I have for APC.”

While on the road, Hamisu admitted to being stopped by road users and townsmen in admiration. Some of them requested selfies with him. The public admiration continued even at the convention as other party faithful showered Hamisu with questions borne out of pure astonishment.
