Here are a few things you don't know about snoring

Are you snoring?

Snoring is an unintentional habit. It is the act of producing a strange and disturbing sound while sleeping. Many people don't know they snore until they are told when they sleep next to a friend, family member, or in public.

People snore because there is vibration in their soft palate when air flows from their airways.

Causes

Snoring can be a result of health challenges or a personal bad habit. Below are some of the common causes.

1. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (A situation whereby the upper airways are blocked so that the chest muscles and diaphragm need extra effort to push air into the lungs)

2. The long soft palate

3. Alcohol

4. Sleeping positions (mostly sleeping on the back)

5. Overweight

6. Stress

7. Cold

Etc.

Whichever way, you can stop snoring when you discover the cause.

Discover it and enjoy a healthy night's sleep.
