Ede Polytechnic Suspends Student Union.

Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State suspended the activities of the student union due to violence on campus, not long after the ban was lifted by ISEC on the 22nd of March. This action was taken by the management of the school when a fight broke out between two presidential aspirants during their campaign on the 24th of March. The two students and their supporters, who were armed, clashed with each other. One student was seen injuring another with a cutlass, while the other was seen with a gun.

The Dean of Student Affairs issued a memo to the school management that the student union needed to be suspended due to the violence of the students. They hereby suspended the student union until further notice, and the students involved in the fight have been arrested. The president of the student union, Adekunle Jimoh, stated that the management of the school did not involve the union when the decision to suspend the election was taken. He stated that he would be meeting with the management on Monday to disqualify the two students involved in the fight. He affirms that disqualification of these warring parties will foster the reinstatement of the Union.
