Writer, Onyeka Nwelue, predicted Hushpuppi's Waterloo

Following the recent array of events regarding the conviction of Ramon 'Hushpuppi' Abbas, popular Nigerian writer who serves as visiting professor in several universities around the world, Dr Onyeka Nwelue has lent his voice in making reminiscence of Hushpuppi's days of flamboyance and luxury. Taking to his Instagram page, the author of the novel Island of happiness, on Friday, redirected his followers' minds to an article he wrote and was published on the 19th of June, 2017, almost 4 years before Hushpupi's guilty plea.

In the article, Dr Onyeka describes the social media Gucci king as one with "a tenacity to pepper the haters and humble them". His reasons being that Mr Abbas has "defeated poverty, but you spend a lot of energy dragging poverty along with you. You feel bad leaving poverty. You feel vengeful. You feel you need to retaliate. That is why you have chosen to oppress us, most of us who may never really enjoy the kind of life that you are enjoying." After which he implores him to learn from the unknown Igbo traders in "Alaba", "Balogun", "Onitsa" how they keep their income secret. However well Dr Onyeka tries to keep his opinion of Hushpuppi's lifestyle in suggestive rather than declarative tone, he fails at the end in hiding his opinion of Hushpuppi's end, as he writes, speaking of those, who at the time wined and dined with Mr Abbas, "...because the day you are going down, they are not going down with you."

Captioning the above article that was posted in 10 image slides on his Instagram page, Dr Onyeka satires, "He must have read it, which is why he doesn't want to go down alone." We may agree with this as following Hushpupi's recent plea of guilt to conspiracy to engage in money laundering (instablog9ja, Instagram), the former Gucci King has exposed at least five other conspirators (United State District Court, 2/12/2022).

We can then say, Hushpupi will be going down, but not alone. Thanks to the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, USA.
