I'm single and not searching

ICON OF THE WEEK

Interviewer: Can we meet you?

ICON: My name is Oreoluwa Victoria Alabi, a final year student of the Department of English. I am the last child of a family of 6. I am from Ibadan, Oyo state.

Interviewer: Your course of study?

ICON: I am an English Language major student.

Interviewer: Did you choose the course or you were given?

ICON: Actually, coming to OAU, I chose the course myself. I wouldn't say I loved the course. I chose it because I didn't want difficulty with admission. English is easy to get into.

Interviewer: What has been your biggest challenge studying the course?

ICON: I've had challenges; sometimes I feel like I'm not up to the task. So far, the biggest challenge was trying to fit into the course proper. I've managed to overcome this and I'm now finding it easy.

Interviewer: Why Journalism?

ICON: To be honest, I've always liked to inform people as misinformation could lead to diverse mistakes. I want to help with the spread of adequate information.

Interviewer: When did you join the ICONS?

ICON: First semester, part two.

Interviewer: Why did you choose ICONS?

ICON: To be honest, I've always been drawn to the ICONS organisation. Right from my part one, I've loved the way they delivered, and the aesthetic features of their notice board. I believed the organisation was a training ground for me and I've been able to develop myself.

Interviewer: Who is you fav Lecturer?

ICON: That would be my supervisor, Prof Babalola.

Interviewer: Who is your Fav Icon member?

ICON: My favourite would be a member of the alumni, Tosh. But I love every ICON member.

Interviewer: Any Crush in the organization or your class?

ICON: No! None at all.

Interviewer: Your relationship status?

ICON: (smiles) I'm single and not searching.

Interviewer: Why?

ICON: This is because I feel like there should be room for personal development before thinking about handling relationships.

Interviewer: Do you see yourself practicing journalism after School?

ICON: No, because I have other interests related to journalism, but not journalism itself. However I'll do things pertaining to journalism like editing, proofreading, content creation and the likes.

Interviewer: What's your favourite delicacy?

ICON: Amala, Ewedu with Gbegiri which is called Abula. This is because I was born and bred in Ibadan and as a true daughter of the soil, I have to embrace my roots.

Interviewer: What other creative skills do you possess?

ICON: I draw and paint at times, and to some extent, I have social media optimization (SMO) skills.
