NASELS OAU Holds Election after 2 years, Presidential Election Declared Inconclusive.
The National Association of English and Literary Studies held her election, Thursday 19th March, 2020.
The chairman of the electoral committee for the NASELS executive council election, Nweke Izuchukwu Jude declared the commencement of the election by 11:06am. Also stating that there would only be an election for the post of president and vice president because all other positions are unopposed.
In an interview with the aspirants, Yusuf Qudus Olaniyi, one of the candidates vying for the post of president, stated that "I wants to be a catalyst for change" when asked his reason for contesting.
His opposition Adeleye Ridwan also known as Deleyee in his reply to the same question said that: "I wants to revive the consciousness of NASELS"
Olabiyi Faith Olamide, one of the candidates vying for the post of the vice president said that "if I don't get elected I will be fine because it is not a do-or-die affair"
While Awolusi Winfried another candidate contesting for the post of vice president said that "My ambition is to set the department back on ground."

It has been confirmed by an electoral member that an Economics student, non-member of the National Association of English & Literature Student has voted using the ID Card of a part two English Language student whose names have been withheld, therefore, the electoral committee decided to remove 10 votes each from the affected personalities.
Another issue that sparked controversy in the election was the increase in time. The electoral chairman added thirty minutes (30min) to the election time and this caused a controversy as some were for the increment and others weren't. He said that the increase was due to the fact that the election started late.
