WATER-POWERED GENERATOR TO BE UNVEILED IN NIGERIA

FEMI    Buserve limited, a Nigeria firm has announced plans to introduce a generator which is powered by water-hydrogen into the country to enable businesses and citizens to reduce their electricity cost.     The Chief executive officer of the firm, Mr Laitan Aderinto said the technology was being deployed in Europe. This was disclosed at a press briefing in Lagos. He said "we are partnering with a German company. We are starting with the bigger generator with capacity of 500KVA and above our plan is to ensure that factories are back to normal; the price of diesel is killing them, if the government is ready, we are ready to work with them. For instance, there are independent power plants in lagos that are being powered by gas. LAGOS ASSEMBLY SUMMONS AMBODE OVER ALLEGATIONS

ADEKUNLE T. FEMI    The Lagos state House of assembly has pinned five crimes allegedly committed by the former governor of the state, Mr Akinwumi Ambode. The alleged crimes include unauthorized discounting of promissory note and purchase of 820 buses without due authorization.    The Assembly therefore summoned the former governor to appear before it by 1pm on Wednesday. This summon makes it the second time the governor was called upon to face the Assembly.    The House has set up an adhoc committee to investigate some financial misappropriation during the Ambode led administration. However, according to the statement made by the House, Ambode and the former government officials refused to appear before the House committee .The House has now issued another invite to the former governor which  was published in some national dailies. WE CAN SUPPLY ENOUGH RICE NATIONWIDE SAYS CROSS RIVER FARMERS

By: Olaniyi Abiodun           Although a good number of Nigerians are currently complaining and blaming the Federal government for closing the country's borders and the sudden inflation on the price of rice.Rice cooperatives,big-time farmers,including the Rice Farmers Association Of Nigeria(RIFAN) in Cross River state are ready for the order of rice across the country.Among the eight local government areas in the state which are predominantly,rice producers are Ogoja,Yala,Bekwara,Abi,Ikom,Obudu.Farmers in these areas have commend the Federal government for taking a very bold step in ensuring the local investors and farmers get real value for their investment rather than encouraging the import of rice from other countries.Local investors and farmers therefore call on the Federal government to permanently keep the borders closed so that Nigerians can also be made popular and its acceptability amongst the people sustained.

Opinion: The Menace of Sexual Harassment - Beyond Wails and Penalties

The society in this era is confronted by this disturbing social menace, sexual harassment. Perhaps, it might appear very pronounced in this era, consequent upon the jet age avenues by which information is spread. Without being narrow minded,  however, sexual harassment of any kind (rape, sex for favor or opportunities, intimidated sex, etc) dates as far back as to the history of men and society. As society advances, the perception of what is right and wrong or what is moral and immoral, as regards marital life and sexual behavior varied accordingly to respective epochs. That is, at some time and stage, sex, like marriage too, among children of brothers and sisters was seen as normal.
