Meet NAOSS President

ICONS — Good afternoon sir, We're from The ICONS Organisation. Can we meet you please?
JOSEPHINO — Good afternoon. My name Onitayo Joseph Olayemi, politically known as Josephine. I hail from Osun state, Ifedayo local government, Ila-Orangun to be precise. I am the present president of The National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) OAU chapter.
ICONS — Can we know your level academically?
JOSEPHINO — I am a 500 level student of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University.
ICONS — How has studies been so far?
JOSEPHINO — During my part one days, I had the mindset that if it was not Law then no other option, but, here I am in part 5 with a changed orientation. Academics generally have been full of ups and downs. Sometimes results will be discouraging and sometimes on the average level. Results determines the fate of every student on campus.
ICONS — Can you tell us your happiest and saddest moments in OAU?
JOSEPHINO — If I can recall I have two bad moments (I have cried only twice on campus) all in the same session and that was in Part 2. The first was in First Semester; I couldn't afford #50 in a week, I was unable to buy #30 material. The second was in Second Semester during the Student Union election. I was the second-in-command to the campaign manager for Ibiyemi; I misplaced almost all his manifestoes. As regards my happiest moment, I have so many but I'll award it to the day I emerged as the NAOSS President having campaigned for 6 months.
ICONS — As the NAOSS President, what are your visions for the association and how do you intend to satisfy the needs of the people?
JOSEPHINO — Answering from the first part of the question of my vision for the association,as we know it is impossible to build on nothing;it cannot stand. The Association has being registered but has failed to renew it's existence for 3 sessions. We wish to renew the registration. Also there will be Skill acquisition programme and a Career opportunity conference, there will be a NAOSS week like never before, also if bursary is denied by the government there will be a welfare package for my members including scholarship opportunities to be sponsored by the Honourables Elect in the State House of Assembly
ICONS — What is the financial status of the association?
JOSEPHINO — Money is a determining factor in anything we do, without money there is limit to what can be achieved.NAOSS OAU is presently financially down due to the fact that the past administration handed over a zero account a lot of money was expended on the just concluded election.
ICONS — How do you plan to raise funds?
JOSEPHINO — As I said earlier, there will be various programmes so we intend to tag people who will sponsor these programmes. Also we will partner with some
organisations like Zenith Bank
ICONS — On a final note, what's your view on Leadership?
JOSEPHINO — Leadership is a call to service; it is a clarion call. Once your ambition fail, don't see yourself as a failure. Leadership is the ability to bring people together to achieve a common goal.
ICONS — Thank you very much for your time,we do hope you will honour our invitation next time.
JOSEPHINO — Yes, you are welcome
