FASA ELECTION CANCELLED

      The Facaulty of Arts Students Association's election on Thursday December 20th, 2018 was nullified.
      The election which started some minutes after 12pm at AUD 2 and Linguistics Foyer respectively  was allegedly cancelled because list of FASA financial members was influenced.
       Toluano, a presidential aspirant from the department of philosophy, made it clear that the cancellation of election is a good idea. He said: “The cancellation is an act of restoring sanity, by restoring sanity, I mean letting everything to be in order. According to the constitution of FASA, it states that executive council election shall hold at AUD but we were suprised when the electoral committee,which is independent of anybody said that there will be a polling unit at another place. We even got to know that some department's list was skyrocketed.“
        Moreover, while interacting with Olanshile, a presidential aspirant from department of Philosophy, he supported the cancellation of election. He said: “If two legs are required to run a race and one is cut, we need to check it,  it is evident that there were two polling units for the election. Over sixty votesrs names were missing. Also, about 143 voters from department of music which is evident that this department can can never be up to that. I did my research, the total number of people to vote from Music is 45. And there are rumors that some people have access to the receipt.”
          An aspirant from department of English,  Adeniji Mahmod made it clear that the election can be related to selfish interest of some candidates.
          Also, Adewale Ayo, a presidential aspirant from the department of history,  claimed that the cancellation is very wrong. He made it clear that they use to compile the names of financial member of FASA for voting but at the same time there may be human errors. They made a suggestion of using duplicate of receipts but one of the candidate countered it and the electoral committee subscribed into the idea of only one candidate despite that two candidate objected it which he claimed that the problem of polling unit 2 shouldn't have affected polling unit 1.
           An observer, stated that the problem of faculty of Art election is that they refuse to deviate from old way of doing things.
            At the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach the electoral committee about the election prove abortive as they refuse to give us listening ears.

Fresher's Week'24: Students' Union Holds Freshers Inter-Faculty Debate

The debate is part of the events that have been prepared for Fresher’s Week 2024. The event experienced a slight delay, as the venue was moved from the 1000-seater to Oduduwa Hall by the order of the school management, which requested that the initial venue be vacated because the office of the Vice President, responsible for the event, failed to seek permission before using it. In the quiet corridors of Moremi Hall, a disturbing series of events has shaken the residents, raising questions about security and the unknown intentions of an elusive intruder.   It all started two weeks ago when the inhabitants of Moremi Hall were awoken to the cry of a lady, "Ole! Ole! (the Yoruba name for thief). At exactly 5:00 am, a guy who was wearing a mask was seen darting across the corridors.
