The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reacted to the declaration of strike by the Academics Staff Union of Universities Obafemi Awolowo University chapter that the students should continue with their academics activities on campus.
The management made this affirmation in the official release signed by the registrar of the school Mrs M I Omosule on Tuesday 6th November, 2018 stating that "academic session is very much on course. As there are no plans to compel students to vacate the campus until the end of the year holidays.
He thereby ensure the welfare and safety of students and staffs respectively "
It should be recalled that the ASUU chairman OAU chapter D. Adeola Egbedokun has earlier warned the students to go home as they (ASUU) would not want the students to become the victims of any consequence of the strike action, he further said " to our students we love you, we don't to loose any of you to any of you at the cause of anything that may happen during the industrial action "
However, with the current situation, the students have been left in uncertainty as they are confused about what to do as regards their staying on campus and with their academics activities.
