ACJ–OAU INDUCTION CEREMONY
Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile–Ife held her annual induction ceremony on 28th July, 2018. The Induction ceremony took place at Faculty of Administration Extension Building at exactly 11:40am.
The ceremony was anchored by the EIC, Newstrack Platform, Adejumo Kabir. The theme: Objectivity in Journalism: A Panacea for Nation Building which was expatiated by the guest speaker, Mr. Kehinde Ayantunji, Deputy Chairman NUJ, osun State, where he talked about the basis and ethics of journalism in the society. He admonished all campus journalists to be fearless.
Mr. Yousuph Adebayo Grey, an OAP of Great Ife fm, spoke on the sub–theme; Qualities of a 21st Century Broadcaster. He highlighted the salient features of 21st Century broadcasting. He said “To go into the broadcasting profession, you need a good voice that captivates the audience. No voice is bad for radio.”
The President, ACJ–OAU, Ogundokun Doyinmola in his welcome speech stated the need for campus journalists to be observant. Twelve campus journalists were inducted into the association. In attendance at the ceremony were: Chairman, Guild of Editors, Olamide Olalekan, Deputy Chairman, Guild of Editors, Lateef Olaiya EIC,OAU PEEPS, Alfred Olufemi, EIC,The ICONS Organization General Secretary ACJ–OAU, Oludiran Olusola Cyrus, P.R.O ACJ–OAU, Adeleke Matthew, amongst others.
