On the 23rd of August 2017, around 5pm in the evening, residence of Akintola hall displayed their displeasure towards what they referred to as an "absurd measure" which was adopted on an Akintolite by the hall Chairperson, Ogunremi Kadijat known as Kaddie.
The hall chairperson was said to have gone to the bathroom at M1 block around 4:30 and carried the bucket used by Bisi, a part2 student of sociology and anthropology, who had decided to take her bath at the corridor of the bathroom. Kaddie also took her towel, leaving the lady helpless as there was no way for her to leave the bathroom naked because of the male students in the hostel.
The young lady final devised a means to get to her room mate, and with the help of her colleague who brought her a wrapper, she escaped shame.
In revenge the roommates and fellow Akintolites reported the issue to the Student Union, requesting the presence of the hall chairperson but all efforts proved abortive. The Akintolites therefore were left with no choice but to lock the executive room and sending those present out, locked the hall General Secretary in another room.
Later that evening, the Dean and Vice Dean of Student Affairs with Coach Abu, came to settle the issue because the lady said to have been involved in this issue is recognized as an athlete. They had a closed door meeting, afterwards  Coach Abu addressed Akintolites urging them to go to their various rooms and prepare for their exams with an assurance that the issue would resolved.
