​The Icons Organisation and Its Members Win Multiple Awards

The Association of Campus Journalists (ACJOAU) held its dinner and award night on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to celebrate the achievements of the 2025/2026 session. The event, themed “Gbàgede Oníròyìn,” recognized the outstanding accomplishments made during this period, particularly highlighting the significant contributions during the "members era."

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, ACJ released the list of award nominees, which featured 23 categories. The Icons Organisation was nominated for the Overall Best News Agency, and its members received nominations across various categories.

During the dinner and awards ceremony, Icons and its members excelled, winning 13 out of the 23 awards announced by the Association of Campus Journalists. The awarded categories included:


- Best News Agency: Icons Organisation
- Overall Best Campus Journalist: Ezekiel Ogunniyi
- Best Campus Editor: Adedoyin Oguntade
- Best Graduating Campus Journalist: Oluwafemi Adetunji
- Best Male Campus Journalist: Ezekiel Ogunniyi
- Most Promising Campus Journalist: John Alabi
- Best Feature Report: Ezekiel Ogunniyi
- Best Collaborative Reporter: Samuel Faseyitan
- Best Education Report: Ezekiel Ogunniyi
- Best Politics Report: Samuel Faseyitan for “Great Ife Decides 2026: When Apathy Becomes Everyone's Business”
- Best Sports Reporter: Adedoyin Onajobi
- Best News Story: “Aluta Jet Involved in Accident” by John Alabi
- Best Editorial/Article: Israel Bakare for “Man Who Elects the Unelected” (awarded in absentia)

The achievements of Icons stood out during the dinner, making it a memorable night for the organisation and its members as they took home the majority of the awards presented at the event.
