ACJOAU Announces Nominees for 2026 Dinner and Awards Night

In anticipation of the celebration and recognition of outstanding campus journalists excelling in news reporting and article writing, the Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University (ACJOAU), has publicly announced the nominees for its award categories. The event is scheduled to feature dinner, handing-over, and awards presentation, acknowledging excellence and significant contributions to campus journalism.

Towards the end of July, Adedoyin Oguntade, Chairman of the Guild of Editors, delivered a public announcement about the upcoming Dinner and Awards Night, encouraging members to prepare for a joyous atmosphere filled with celebration as the Association wraps up the current session.

"Get ready for the Association of Campus Journalists (ACJOAU) Dinner, Awards, and Handover Ceremony, tagged 'Gbagede Oniroyin.' Join us for an exciting evening filled with fun, great food, and music, while networking as we end the session in style," the announcement stated.

The event, themed "Gbagede Oniroyin," has generated considerable anticipation among Association members. It is scheduled for September 1, 2026, at the Agric Foyer, OAU, starting at 9:00 PM.

With the recent release of the nominee list, the entire Association is focused on the pressing question: "Who will be the recipients of these awards?" While the answer remains uncertain, it will be revealed at the upcoming Dinner and Awards Night.

Additionally, the program aims to bring together members, stakeholders, and students from the university community to celebrate the power of journalism and the importance of timely information. This reaffirms the Association's commitment to promoting journalism and effective communication within the university environment.

As the countdown to the event begins, ACJOAU members and guests are eagerly expected to gather at the Agric Foyer on the day of the event, ready for a remarkable celebration of recognition and transition that highlights their contributions to journalism as the Association concludes its current administrative session.
