A release issued by the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) on August 27th requested that students vacate the halls of residence by September 6th, 2024. This announcement prompted a meeting between the Students' Union and the DSA.

Due to the intervention of the Students' Union, an agreement was reached with the DSA. Students engaged in SWEP, SIWES, Teaching Practice, or other mandatory departmental programs were given additional consideration.

In a release issued by the Students' Union on Sunday, September 8th, several clarifications were made: Male students currently residing in the halls of residence are to move to Fajuyi Hall, while female students are to move to Akintola Hall due to security reasons. Only students who will remain on campus after September 13th are required to pay the stipulated charges demanded by the DSA. No student whose clearance does not stipulate payment is required to pay. Such students would vacate the halls latest by September 13th.

In a conversation with Aka Daniel, the Public Relations Officer of the Students' Union, he explained that only final-year students are required to make payments, as indicated on their clearance documents.
