Great Ife Students' Union Electoral Commission Lifts Ban on Campaign Activities

The Electoral Commission of the Great Ife Students' Union, in a release dated Tuesday, June 11, lifted the ban on campaigning for the 2022/2023 election.


The committee also implores candidates to familiarize themselves with the campaign rules which are contained in the document attached to the release.


According to the commission, the sales of nomination forms will commence soon. The commission will also release detailed information, guidelines, and procedures to allow for a transparent election process.


Recall that the Great Ife Students' Representative Council, led by Rt. Hon. Ganiyu Yusuf, on Thursday, June 6, in its Business Sitting, nominated thirteen students, one from each Faculty, to constitute the Electoral Committee, which will oversee the forthcoming Students' Union Elections. The members were:


- Oladepo Moses from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences

- Hassanat Adebowale from the Faculty of Law (Public Relations Officer)

- Oni Mustapha Adeyemi from the Faculty of Pharmacy (Financial Secretary)

- Akinboade Niyi Joseph from the Faculty of Science

- Taofeek Ogunperi from the Faculty of Art (Chairman of the Commission)

- Jimoh Sodiq from the Faculty of Environment of Design and Management

- Olayinka Damilare from the Faculty of Education (Secretary)

- Badejo Aduragbemi from the Faculty of Administration

- Samuel Adeleke from the Faculty of Agriculture

- Adebayo Ridwan from the Faculty of Technology

- Hamzat Ahmed from the Faculty of Social Sciences

- Adebayo Idris from the Faculty of Dentistry

- Afolabi Adewale Victor from Basic Medical Sciences


The commission has affirmed its commitment to maintaining the standard of transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the election process of the 2022/2023 session.
