The Dangote Petroleum Refinery Management has registered as a member of the Depots and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN).
To date, only three prominent organisations are registered members and together, account for 75% of the Nigerian market.
The Dangote corporation also considered the interest expressed by other marketers in lifting and distributing its petroleum products around the nation.
The Executive Secretary, Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), Olufemi Adewole, revealed that the association commenced discussions with Dangote Petroleum Refinery regarding the lifting and distribution of refined petroleum products last year during a meeting between DAPPMAN Chairman Dame Winifred Akpani, the 2nd Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mahmud Tukur and the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote.
Adewole claimed that refining Petroleum products from the Dangote Refinery would improve Nigeria's economic growth, and DAPPMAN members would have easy access to refined petroleum products.
In the same spirit, the Vice President of IPMAN, Alhaji Hammed Adekunle Fasola, said the group had clearly expressed its desire to extract and distribute crude oil from the Dangote Refinery. Everything needed to ensure the flow of oil from Dangote Refinery across the country had been organized, with about 80% of the outlets nationwide, he said.
Further, MOMAN Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Clement Isong said MOMAN members had registered as dealers at the Dangote Refinery. Therefore, after each marketer had agreed upon business arrangements, they would purchase from them.
Capable of processing various types of crude oil, the Refinery is designed to process 100% Nigerian crude oil, and it is equipped with a truck-loading gantry capable of processing 2,900 loads per day. Dangote Oil Refinery has the capacity to produce all refined products in Nigeria: 45 million liters of petrol per day, 14 million liters of diesel per day, 10 million liters of kerosene per day, and 2 million liters of Aviation Jet fuel per day, and still have excess for export.
The refinery design conforms with US EPA, European, World Bank, and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) emission/effluent standards through their cutting-edge technology. Consequently, the Refinery will produce goods that meet Euro V requirements.
