Excitement Builds as West African University Games Sports Schedule Unveiled, Starts Monday



In an announcement that has sparked excitement among sports enthusiasts and academics alike, the organizers of the West African University Games have released a detailed schedule for the upcoming event, set to commence on Monday, December 18. The comprehensive schedule is now available in the official event magazine, promising four days of intense and thrilling competition.

The Games, renowned for showcasing the athletic prowess of university students across West Africa, will kick off with a dynamic array of track and field events. On Day 1, spectators can look forward to an exhilarating mix of athletics, featuring both track and field events for men and women, along with a captivating mixed relay race comprising two men and two women from each university. The rules permit each university to field up to two athletes per individual event and one team for each relay, setting the stage for a fierce but friendly contest.
Day 2 shifts the spotlight to the dynamic world of 3×3 basketball. This fast-paced, energetic format will see male and female teams from various universities battle it out on the court. Each team is allowed a maximum of four players per gender, ensuring a level playing field and promising some close-fought matches.

The excitement continues on Day 3 with table tennis, a sport renowned for its speed, precision, and skill. The day's events will be divided into men's, women's, and mixed doubles categories, offering a range of competitions for the enthusiasts of this fast-paced game.
The grand finale on Day 4 will feature tennis, encompassing men's and women's singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles. Participants will showcase their prowess in what promises to be a display of skill, agility, and sportsmanship. Universities will have the opportunity to present two players for each singles event and one pair for each doubles event in both table tennis and tennis, making for a broad and inclusive representation.
