Students Union Holds Inter-Faculty Debate Wednesday to Friday

The Students’ Union of the Obafemi Awolowo University is set to hold an inter faculty debate on Wednesday 22nd of November to Friday 24th of November, 2023. 

The topic for the debate is Students Loan Act 2023: A Bridge or a Barrier to Nigerian Students; the students loan is a revived initiative of the President Tinubu led administration.

Thirteen faculties which include Faculties of Administration, Agriculture, Arts, Basic Medical
Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dentistry, Education, Environmental Design and Management, Law, Pharmacy, Science, Social Sciences and Technology are expected to participate in the debate competition.

According to the statement released from the Union, the debate raffle draw will hold on Monday 20th of November. Students interested in representing their respective faculties in the debate should ensure to reach out to their Faculty Association Executives now to confirm their participation as only two students would be selected per faculty.

The debate is expected at the Chukwusa Dennis TV Room at the Students’ Union Building and will also feature side attractions such as Networking, Open Mic Show, Side Games, Symposium amongst others.

Fresher's Week'24: Students' Union Holds Freshers Inter-Faculty Debate

The debate is part of the events that have been prepared for Fresher’s Week 2024. The event experienced a slight delay, as the venue was moved from the 1000-seater to Oduduwa Hall by the order of the school management, which requested that the initial venue be vacated because the office of the Vice President, responsible for the event, failed to seek permission before using it.
