Fire Outbreak at Moremi Hall of Residence

At around 9:30pm this Saturday evening, a fire broke out at the buttery on the first floor of Block F, Moremi hall of residence. An eyewitness, who identified herself as Sophie said that the cause of the fire was a blender that was left on, by a yet to be identified woman.


The incident happened at  the buttery located at Block F and no lives were lost. The fire destroyed a few foodstuffs and, the blender. Moremi queens gathered at the scene as the hostel porters  tried to put out the fire with buckets of water. When asked if the damages were substantial, Sophie said, "It’s a miracle the woman’s shop is still in one piece because that fire was enormous."


As of the time of this reporting, the shop owner had been alerted and was siting in a corner as she sobbed and gave thanks because she didn't incur much loss. The timely intervention of the hostel porters prevented the fire from spreading.

Fresher's Week'24: Students' Union Holds Freshers Inter-Faculty Debate

The debate is part of the events that have been prepared for Fresher’s Week 2024. The event experienced a slight delay, as the venue was moved from the 1000-seater to Oduduwa Hall by the order of the school management, which requested that the initial venue be vacated because the office of the Vice President, responsible for the event, failed to seek permission before using it. The event began at 12:35 PM. MOREMI HALL: A Tale of Night Stories: When Will It End? In the quiet corridors of Moremi Hall, a disturbing series of events has shaken the residents, raising questions about security and the unknown intentions of an elusive intruder.   It all started two weeks ago when the inhabitants of Moremi Hall were awoken to the cry of a lady, "Ole! Ole! (the Yoruba name for thief). At exactly 5:00 am, a guy who was wearing a mask was seen darting across the corridors.
