Professor Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi was appointed to Kwara State University as the Vice Chancellor on the 1st of April, 2020 at age 49.

He became a professor at the age of 40 years. He is a former Director of Unilorin school of Preliminary studies and also the son of the former president of The Court of Appeal, and the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences, Justice Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi.

In the history of Nigerian institutions, this happens a record breaker and is revolutionary to the progress of academia. This is because a quadragenerian is often full of energy.
