Miracle Elvis

The postponed fifth studio album of the Grammy award-winning afro singer, Wizkid, was released on the 11th of November and garnered critiques of all shades and sounds.

While many think that the 13-track album is a typical work of sonic art that incorporates a vast range of sounds including the south African Amapiano, just as many also consider the album a 'mid-performance from the 32-year-old afrobeat legend.

'Wizkid now sings with an insane level of indifference. He's sure of his market and now just puts out anything.' Kunle, a part two student in the department of public administration, OAU, opines. Rashidat, from the English department, says, "Wizkid desperately needs a songwriter. And that is no crime"

Additionally, in the streets of Twitter, many have flagged the songs on the More Love Less Ego album as one that prioritizes sexual pleasure, thus, it falters at being a fine work of art.

However, it must be stated that pleasure and desire, like any other feeling expressed by mankind, are core themes in the world of art as well as human existence. With his sound and genre of music, Wizkid presents himself as a mouthpiece of the African culture educating the world on love as perceived by an African in all its dimensions, and desire is not left out.
