OAU Student Union Executive Protest At UBA

 Owolabi Philip

The OAU student union executives led a protest at the United Bank for Africa, OAU branch, on Monday, 11th April 2022, over the unlawful withdrawal of seven hundred and twenty thousand naira (₦720,000) from the union's account.

Prior to this, there was speculation that Reform, the present union president, had connived with the former union president, IBK, to siphon funds belonging to the Great Ife Student Union (GISU).

The student union president, Reform, and the financial secretary, Legbeti, who are signatories to the account, have openly stated that they weren't involved in the withdrawal of the missing funds.

The manager of the UBA OAU branch appealed to the union executives to be patient with them. He stated that an investigation will begin in earnest to look into the illegal withdrawal of the union's funds.
