In his speech, he congratulated the students for witnessing the unique and historic inauguration of the 2021/2022 Student Union Elect of OAU.

He said, "this is not the first time the university will be inaugurating an elected Students' Union board but however, this is the first time the vice chancellor in his office time, brings the establishment and nurturing of the Students' Union despite the many fostering and unforeseen views against such beliefs".

He further stated that there was no petition as regards the election held as it was fair.  He completed his speech, wishing all the student representatives success as they take over the mantle.

After the speech, a documentary of how the electoral process went and the manifesto of every elected member was projected for the students' view.

The students electoral commission chairman, Ajayi Oluwafemi P.K.A FM Castro, delivered his speech, thanking the university management and the general community of OAU campus for their support.

He went further, saying, "the greatness of OAU is not because of aluta continua but because OAU has always been at the forefront in everything great in the country. The university is great because of the great things it has done in the past".

He ended his speech by telling all the representatives that they are in office to serve the students and not themselves. He also commended the students and wished them well in all their various endeavors.

The speaker, Rt, Hon Ajadi Toheeb, swore in the members of the students representative council, the central executives council and the hall executives council.

The new president of the Students' Union, Olayiwola Festus Folahan, in his speech, reiterated his resolve to make the university greater and maintain peace and unity. He  reaffirmed his willingness to serve the students and pledged his loyalty for the rest of the administration.
