How To Make The Classic Porridge

 


THE CLASSIC PORRIDGE.


When I say this porridge is insanely delicious,  you have to trust me on this. The main ingredients of the classic porridge are; cocoa yam, potatoes, plantain.

Yeah, this is not the usual yam porridge.


Porridge recipe for four people:


_6 Sweet Potatoes.

_4 ripe Plantains.

_6 Pieces of Cocoayam.

_¼ cup of crayfish.

_2 medium onions chopped and divided.

_1 smoked fish.

_Goat meat/Turkey/Beef.

_Tumeric, garlic and ginger.

_Grounded pepper and tomatoes.

_1 sachet of tomato paste

_Palm oil

_Salt

_Seasoning cubes.

_Scent leaf

_Ugwu vegetable leaf.

_Turning stick.


STEP ONE.

Peel your cocoyam, plantain and potatoes,cut them into small pieces.Wash and rinse well.


STEP TWO.

In a medium saucepan, pour in the palm oil and heat up,then put in the chopped onions, sauté till transluscent, add your tomatoe paste and fry for 2 minutes, then pour in the blended pepper mix. Add your garlic, ginger and tumeric mixture, seasoning cube, salt and scenting leaf.

Cook for about 3 minutes or until the moisture evaporates.


STEP THREE.

Wash and shred the crayfish and smokefish properly, then add to the boiling pepper mix.

Add little water or stock if available.


STEP FOUR.

Add your potatoes, cocayam and plantain to the boiling mixture, allow it cook for 15 minutes. When the main ingredients are getting soft and yummy, use your turning stick to stir and mash together.


STEP FIVE.

Reduce the heat and add your properly washed ugwu leaf to steam for 2-3 minutes.


Feel free to take it with peppered chicken or beef sauce and a chilled drink. 

Boom! Classic Porridge is ready.🥰♥
