The Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University, has decided to handle the election debate after resolution between her and the Electoral Commission.

The association aired her decision in a press release signed by the President, ACJ OAU:

The leadership of the Association happily inform you of it's decision to go ahead with the debate as scheduled today as the association has been guaranteed independence. 

Sequel to the previous Press Release of the Association, we are glad to inform  the Great Ife students that we have reached a mutually beneficial agreement with the Electoral Commission regarding the electoral debate. This resolve is coming after series of meetings and discussions with relevant authorities.

We wish to reiterate to the university community that everything is set for the debate and election monitoring. The Association of Campus Journalists, OAU, will perform it's duties as convention dictates by handling the debate. We are working collaboratively with relevant authorities to ensure that the elections are properly conducted.

We assure Great Ife that the questions are secured and only privy to those that will be asking them. Also, our election Monitors and Reporters will be on ground providing real-time and fact-backed updates. Below are the details of the debate:

Fresher's Week'24: Students' Union Holds Freshers Inter-Faculty Debate

By  Adetunji Oluwafemi The Great Ife Students’ Union on Monday, 3rd November 2024, held its planned inter-faculty debate for freshmen. The debate is part of the events that have been prepared for Fresher’s Week 2024. The event experienced a slight delay, as the venue was moved from the 1000-seater to Oduduwa Hall by the order of the school management, which requested that the initial venue be vacated because the office of the Vice President, responsible for the event, failed to seek permission before using it. The event began at 12:35 PM. MOREMI HALL: A Tale of Night Stories: When Will It End? In the quiet corridors of Moremi Hall, a disturbing series of events has shaken the residents, raising questions about security and the unknown intentions of an elusive intruder.   It all started two weeks ago when the inhabitants of Moremi Hall were awoken to the cry of a lady, "Ole! Ole! (the Yoruba name for thief). At exactly 5:00 am, a guy who was wearing a mask was seen darting across the corridors.
