Armed Robbers Hits OAU Students Hostel In Town

At about past 9pm, a robbery attack took place in the same hostel which hoodlums gave us the 'black Xmas gift' 'Adam and Eve hostel'.

As reported by an eye witness who pleaded for anonymity,  he said "we heard gun shots and we came out in our large number after mobilizing ourselves and equipping ourselves with the little weapons we could lay hands on."

He instructed "we've sent them off, turn off your light and stay indoor".

When asked how the robbers came to operate, he said "they came with corolla, 7 hefty men with guns and machete, we came out in mass, they were scared of our number and not our weapons." Some said they heard the gunshot too but thought it was knockout at first.

Trying to find out if any one fell victim of the robbery, he said "many fell victim o!"

All effort to contact the School security were futile as it seems their line was not reachable probably due to the poor network coverage or their unavailability

Fresher's Week'24: Students' Union Holds Freshers Inter-Faculty Debate

The debate is part of the events that have been prepared for Fresher’s Week 2024. The event experienced a slight delay, as the venue was moved from the 1000-seater to Oduduwa Hall by the order of the school management, which requested that the initial venue be vacated because the office of the Vice President, responsible for the event, failed to seek permission before using it. The event began at 12:35 PM. In the quiet corridors of Moremi Hall, a disturbing series of events has shaken the residents, raising questions about security and the unknown intentions of an elusive intruder.   It all started two weeks ago when the inhabitants of Moremi Hall were awoken to the cry of a lady, "Ole! Ole! (the Yoruba name for thief). At exactly 5:00 am, a guy who was wearing a mask was seen darting across the corridors.
