Sex Scandal : OAU sacks Professor Akindele

The Obafemi Awolowo  who allegedly requested for sex in exchange for mark from a female student Monica Osagie.

His dismissal was validated by the Management of the school through the press release signed by the vice chancellor of the school Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede on Wednesday 20th June 2018.

It was be recalled that sequel to this moment,  the dismissed Professor has already been placed on suspension by the Senate of the school,  meanwhile it was said that the investigation was ongoing.

According to the the release by the vice chancellor which says " the Senate recommended that Professor Richard Akindele, having been found liable on all the allegations against him, should be dismissed from the services of the University.

The Council, at its meeting of today, Wednesday, 20th of June, 2018, having considered the recommendation of Senate, as well as the report of the Joint Committee of Council and Senate, decided that Professor Richard I. Akindele should be dismissed from the services of the University for gross misconduct."

In respect of that, many reactions from the students have been coming out towards his dismissal,

Taiwo Sunday from the department of English Language joyously commented " This is a good development,  at least this will serve as deterrent to other lecturers who are involved in this corrupt act.

On the restatement of the suspended students.

Revolutionary greetings to the great students of this prestigious institution Obafemi Awolowo University.

It is no longer news that the management of Obafemi Awolowo University has restated the six out of the eight suspended students after a lot of consultations and deliberations have been made so far by the Association and some other stake holders in the University community.

Obviously,  this is an atmosphere of happiness and celebration because the struggle of the comrades has been to the attraction of the victory, and this will always encourage the responsible and good behavioural radicalism in the school and in the country at large.

However,  the management effort towards sensitising peace and freedom in the school cannot be under emphasised.
