Again!!! OAU students congress ends in pandemonium

                    By Oludiran Sola The students' congress of Obafemi Awolowo University ended in pandemonium as there was no congressional conclusions reached. The Congress that started around 6pm  at Amphitheater of the school ended with rancour as the students requested that the President  should step aside as the moderator of the Congress but he refused. Recall that the previous Congress held on 8th June 2017 also ended  same way, and as regards today's Congress, no resolutions was also made. After the closure of Congress by the President,  the students started shouting on him , calling him thief and the likes. However the students are still insistent as they remain at the front of SUB.

PROCEDURES FOR PREPARING PAPARIKA STEW

Hear are the ingredients used below; - 7 Paprika Ctatashed peppers - 1 knorr chicken cube - 1/4 teaspoon sea salt - Handful basil or ugwu leaves - 1/4 teasp oon curry pow der - 1/3 Cup Crayfi sh -1/3 Cup sunflo wer or suya beans oil - 1 Onion                Procedure 1- Fry oil in a pan together with sliced onion 2- Pour grinded pepper, seasoning and salt In the hot oil. 3- Simmer till it boil 4- Add stock, chicken or beef, and basil or Ugwu leaves. 5- Cook for five minutes.

OAU FIREFIGHTERS SAVE AMPHITHEATRE(PHOTOS)

Today, June 23rd 2017, OAU Amphitheatre would have turned to ashes,if not for the quick response and courage of OAU fire station through it staffs(fire fighters) According to the fire fighters, the fire incident started at the generator house under Amphitheatre.Grubby restaurant generator spark while working and result  to fire due to flammable materials kept in the generator house by unknown people. The fire fighters therefore adviced OAU community at large to always call them,when there is fire incident, whether big or small.They therefore give their hotline out in case of any emergency on fire incident. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DECLARES PUBLIC HOLIDAY TO MARK EID-EL -FITR.

The Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday , June 26 and June 27 respectively as Public Holiday to mark Eid- el- Fitr.         Minister of Interior , retired Lt .- Gen . Abdulrahman Dambazau made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government on Thursday 21st of June, 2017 in Abuja .He enjoined all Muslims and other Nigerians to use the occasion of the celebration for sober reflection and pray for peace , unity and progress of the nation in its march to nationhood .Dambazau urged all Nigerians to shun hate speeches and divisive tendencies and join hands with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to build a peaceful , strong and united Nigeria..

TEARS AS FACULTY OF PHARMACY HOLDS CANDLE NIGHT FOR FATILE EMMANUEL

On Tuesday,20th of June 2017, faculty of Pharmacy OAU and other Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) students gathered at faculty of Pharmacy building OAU,to stage a candle night for the deceased Fatile Emmanuel. The students who participated in the candle night are full of tears and heavy heart as they trek from faculty of Pharmacy down to Anglomoz Car park and back to Students' Union building where they finally close the demonstration and condolense. Fatile Emmanuel who got drowned and died on Sunday 18th of June,2017, at Hilton Hotel swimming pool, is a part 3 student of faculty of Pharmacy. Fatile Emmanuel has been described by friends as an easy going person who is friendly and intelligent. THE ICONS was informed that Fatile Emmanuel is a 19years old young man, who is the first child of his Parents according to one of his colleagues.

OAU LOSES PART3 PHARMACY STUDENT

A 300 level student of the department of pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University lost his life yesterday after drowning in a swimming pool at Hilton Hotel. He's identified as Fatile Emmanuel. The tragic incident happened when Emmanuel went to the hotel to swim with two of his friends. A source who addressed that the deceased drown in the swimming pool of the inn because of inaccessibility of life jacket when the incident happened. Baba Faros, the Public Relations Officer Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students was cited saying: "I was called around 4:30pm yesterday by one Dr. Akinwale that my attention was urgently needed at the OAUTHC, on arriving there, I was advised to affirm Emmanuel's death before taking his body to the morgue. We left the hospital around 10:30pm the previous evening ", he said.
