Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, matriculated new students into the institution on the 24th of January 2025. The event marked a significant milestone for the incoming fresh students, officially welcoming them into the university community. It also served as a reminder of the opportunities that lie ahead.

After the formal ceremony, many students mingled, celebrated, and discussed their experiences and expectations as they embarked on their journey into another phase of their lives.

Students Share Their Joy
Samuel Israel from the Department of Fine Art and Applied Art, in his interview, said, "Coming into a new experience is actually nice, but I was not expecting this stress. As a fine artist, my aim is to be one of the best artists in the world, to have my own museum, and to tell people more about art and things related to art, our culture, school, and community."

In an interview with Elijah Ade from the Department of Medicine, he also shared his experience on campus as being nice and exposed to many things, not excluding the 'shege.' He expressed his happiness at being admitted to OAU and his plans to achieve good grades, build a good network of people, and meet beautiful souls for future relationships.

Mubarak, a student from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, has experienced a stressful time since being on campus and wishes to graduate as a first-class student.

Another fresher, Okunola Victoria, from the Department of Education, admitted to feeling joyful about being admitted. She said, "I plan to achieve a lot of things—not only academically but also by mingling with people who will enlighten me academically, socially, intellectually, and in all aspects."

The ceremony concluded with students feeling happy and taking with them the lessons learned and connections made during the event.

OAU looks forward to witnessing the growth and achievements of its newest members as they navigate the challenges and victories of university life.
