    In the early hours of Thursday, 26th of October,Obafemi Awolowo University and its environs received the news of the demise of Afolarinmi Mercy, a part 1 student of Micro Biology.       According to Adewumi Samuel,the 100L class representative of Micro Biology said that she was confirmed dead by some group of neighbours who rarely had histories with her. The cause of her death is inscrutable and yet to be determined as some believed  that her death was as a result of emotional pressure and isolation which later made her to commit suicide. The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole,  says all the Monkey Pox test samples obtained from Lagos tested negative.He  said this during a press conference in Abuja on Monday. He said only four cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in Nigeria. Adewole said, “As of October 13, 2017, there were 17 SUSPECTED cases reported from Yenagoa LGA in Bayelsa State. “We have received laboratory confirmation for Monkeypox virus from three of these cases from the WHO Regional Laboratory in Dakar, Senegal. Samples from 12 other cases from Bayelsa were negative. “With these results, four suspected Monkeypox outbreak in Yenagoa have been confirmed with laboratory evidence.
